Shiva is not any person sitting in some hill, kailas hill, he is not that. What does Kailas mean? Kailas – 'Las' means what, where there is celebration, happiness. Where there is a festive atmosphere. Where there is frolicsomeness / intoxication. Where there is celebration and only celebration. That is Kailas. Vaikunth is where there is nothing short. Kunth – is shortage. Vaikunth is where there is shortage of nothing. Where there is only celebration that is kailas. So, Shiv ji is seated in such kailas. Aatma only is Shiva.

Gurujis message on Valentine's Day.....
"Make God your Valentine. We will never be ditched, deceived or deprived,” said Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at a Satsang in Kolkata on Saturday when the city was in the grip of the Valentine’s Day fever. The Art of Living founder said the world is so distraught because of the absence of love. “Even if there is love, the problem exists. Because, there is wrong expression of it. Love without wisdom (gyan) can also bring trouble. If love comes with wisdom, there will be joy, satisfaction and benediction, “ he said addressing a crowd at the Rabindra Sarovar stadium. On the attacks on people celebrating Valentine’s Day, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said: “The extreme reaction comes out of fear. Our culture, heritage is not so fragile that one celebration would destroy it. There should be due respect to decency and decorum. But if you apply force against the violators, they will only increase. Force is no solution. Let it happen, if something is bad, people will reject it automatically. “ The Art of Living Guru prescribed five steps to get out of sufferings. First, you have to understand the time you are in. Secondly, do some Yoga and Sadhana. Yoga will stop bad things from happening in your life. Thirdly, think that you have overcome many a problem in your life and will eventually also overcome the problem causing your suffering. Next, you must understand that there are people whose suffering is much worse than yours. Put yourself in the seva’ of that person. Finally, have complete faith in nature’s law no suffering is perpetual. Suffering will come and go. “There are two modes you can be in participating and witnessing. We apply both wrongly and end up being unhappy. You must participate in joy and witness suffering. Whenever there is happiness, participate no matter whose happiness it is. When there is suffering, observe it. But what we generally do is that we only participate in suffering, whoever’s it is. But when there is real cause of happiness, we become its mere witness,” he said

The March
His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder, Art of Living, has conceptualized this march to awaken and empower citizens in order to create an on-ground structure that will actually effect a change in societal circumstances and situations, in keeping with His vision and mission of a stress-free, violence-free planet where individuals contribute towards the goal of a One-World Family.
The objective of the march is to awaken and empower the people of India, especially the youth, to participate in the democratic process. This march is the first step of a nationwide campaign aimed at amplifying the collective voice of the citizens and propelling the youth of India against Corruption and Terrorism.
The support and ownership of civil society is an important element in eradicating the problem of corruption and terrorism. Under the sensitisation theme of "Make your Country your Valentine", we endeavour to catalyze this movement, across the nation, with a 3 fold solution: AWARENESS, ACCOUNTABILITY & ACTION.

Life till now .....
Pragyan was scheduled to be held from 12th to 15th Feb and I was supposed to manage the Prelims round of Tux Venture. Prelims were scheduled to be held on Feb 1. Around 2 weeks , before the event we had a wonderful surprise. Gurudev was supposed to visit Trichy during the last week of January . I was thrilled to hear that. The next week we tried to convince the Secretariat to schedule Guruji's visit to our college, but with no success. Guruji suggested us to meet him during the satsang which was to be held in the city. That made sense , since a look at his travel schedule these days can give headache to most of us. Around 5 days before the maha satsang, Dr. Babu who was incharge of the whole event met the director and a few of us regarding the participation in the mahasatsang. The task was to reach out to as many youth as possible and confirm their participation in this event. The catch was we had only 1 day to cover around 50 colleges in the city. Dr. Babu with all his enthusiasm convinced the Vice Chancellors of the 2 main universities, namely Bharatidasan and Anna , to send students for this event . Within 2 days the 10 of us reached out to approx. 50 colleges and around 2 - 2.5K people in the city. The Director guarenteed participation of around 600 students from our college itself. Kshitiz and SK volunteered to ensure participation from our college. A lot more happened , even during the day of the mahasatsang and days prior to them , all that sometime later. However, my event prelims date was right around the corner and with all the time put in the AOL work it was really difficult for me to set even half the target questions for the prelims . We decided to write around 300 questions but managed to gather around 130. Thanks to Sathya,Sanket and Akhil who did a lot of the work themselves for this.... (I managed to set only about 52 questions .... :( ) Anyways , all s well that ends well , the event gathered a nice response with around 130 registrations and participation from a number of colleges. ...
Bye , gtg , class at 920 ...
Jai Gurudev...

Gurujis message for the new year

"The last hour of 2008. The time on this planet for us is a gift. Time is a gift to ourself. When we consider time as a gift our whole outlook towards life shifts. Like every year 2008 also has offered you many gifts. With it's thorns it has made you strong, with its petals it has given u joy.
Any event has the good and not so good. The not so good has made you strong and realize you can handle it. Good part gives you peace and tranquility. This Last hour is good to reflect how you welcomed 08 when it came and how it swept you and swirled you and passed you on to 09.
08 has made many rich people poor. Those who never thought they could come down from their ivory towers had to smell mud. Many who have cheated got exposed. The flaws of capitalism laid bare before our eyes in 2008, like 20 years ago, in 1989 the bubble of communism burst.
Through all this time we learnt one lesson- we should never compromise on human values. Love, compassion, sense of gratefulness and vision for everyone has to dawn in our life.
08 also saw terrorism, loss of life, Sudan, Iraq, Gaza, India had the worst ever terror attacks.
People have asked me — that they are feeling guilty to celebrate. Barely two months after the economy fell, one month after terror attacks — how to celebrate?
Yes, you will feel guilty when your celebration is aimed at gratifying yourself. But if the intention is to uplift everyone in your area, just do it. Don't delay it. We will never feel guilty if we our celebration takes people out of their gloomy moods. This celebration becomes service and there is no guilt. And when your service becomes celebration, there is no ego and pride in it.
Get this. When celebration becomes service, there is not guilt. And when service becomes celebration, there is no pride.
Let us celebrate with this one intention that let's bring home the (Spiritual) Knowledge to everyone — that life, events are impermanent. What is permanent is our spirit, our consciousness. It has no birth and death. Life at a higher plane is eternal and so celebrate every moment knowing that every moment is a gift to us.
2009 we have a great responsibility to uplift the planet from the ashes of the disasters of 2008. New hope, new creation has to made.
It is easy to get swept away in a negative mode. It takes courage to move out of it. I am sure all those who are here have this capacity … And all those who are listening (and reading this) also have that capacity!
At 11 pm, make 2 wishes
1- Personal - What you want for yourself in 2009
2- What you want for the world (ie: peace in Sudan and Iraq, stronger economy in the US,…)
And if there is no difference between these two wishes, then you are enlightened !!!
Last year there was a concern that there would not be enough food on the planet to feed everyone. This year I feel there will be plenty of food on the planet for everyone (lot of yield will come through). Later this year economically Europe and US will become strong. Don't have concerns. It will become better and better … the second half of the year (2009).

Winter Break 08 - 09
Dinesh Dada initiated 800 YES+ graduates into the advance course with the grace of the master always behind us to push us forward towards being more hollow and empty ..... ;) . As Gurudev says about the advance course ," place yourself on the table, just enjoy the massage, & let the masseur take over". Delightful meditations from the supreme self .... :) .
The 3 days of silence was very very powerful. As per the tradition we begin the new year in silence with a GuruPooja and a small meditation. Its really nice.... The whole world makes noise and we were in silence ....
The fun part started when we had our upgrade..... The treasure hunt , puzzles , making castles of playing cards , ..... On the 4th of January Bau challenged us to run the canteen of the ashram . They make an average earnings of 35000 - 40000 thousand on Sundays we were challenged to earn 70000 on the 4th. The entire YES+ team came together to make it successful with every person showcasing their talent be it tatoo drawing , singing , dancing , playing musical instruments , marketing , cooking , etc. Amit and me handled the cooking of the Middle East section throughout the day ..... We cooked Hummus and served it with bread and Sesame salad.
The effort from the entire YES+ team enabled us to make earnings of 70000 ..... target achieved ...... We spent the next 2 days resting in the ashram and left for college on 6th Jan .... A thoroughly exciting and wonderful week at the ashram .....
Jai Gurudev ......
Bye Luv
